08:40 pm - *phew* After a week of living and working out of the Delta, the ECMA staff moved back to our home in the Confed Centre. Seems everyone I talked to had a good time. What more could we ask for, right?
For me, the hightlights: ~ Lennie Gallant - The man knows how to put on a show ~ JP Cormier, Matt Andersen and Dave Gunning playing at the post party - awesome! ~ From Roots to Rock - While country isn't my thing, Darcy Mazerolle, Jason Haywood and Jason Greeley all put on wicked shows ~ Matt Mays & El Torpedo - a possible new fave (I know Wendy will be happy over this ;) ) ~ The Novaks - these guys rock ~ Wintersleep - <3 ~ Gordie Johnson - I was tickled pink to see the most stylish man in rock at the Delta last night ~ Ron Hynes - The song he performed at the Industry Awards was highly entertaining ~ Tribute to Buddy MacMaster ~ Being serenaded by Chuck Arsenault at the Merchant Man - My bosses are evil! ~ Mir - it's been too long since I've seen these guys play ~ Tom Jackson - omg, I love this guy! ~ Countless other things

04:34 pm - Rammstein - Rosenrot bein the slacker that I am, I missed this one comin out a couple of weeks ago. when I was downtown today I continued with the 'merry christmas to me' shopping event. well, as ya can guess, I picked up the cd. I'm kinda disappointed in that I didn't get the limited one but thats just my own fault now isn't it?
keeping with the previous two (mutter and reise, reise), I think this one will be played quite frequently. mutter is still prob my fave from them along with herzeleid. "stirb nicht vor mir" so far is the song I keep on repeat. it's much softer than anything I've heard from them before but very good all the same.

11:32 am - Walk the Line As a treat for Bobbi-Jo's bday yesterday, I took her to see Walk the Line. Havin cut my teeth on such greats as Johnny Cash, George Jones and Hank Williams, it was no surprise that I'd go to see this. It lived up to everything I had hoped it would. I'll definitely be buyin this one ^^
For shits and giggles I picked up the Sims 2 this week. <3 that game ^^
Now to quote a dear friend of mine: You just seem to be a magnet for drama. Ya know, people make me shake my head. Stuff from swearing under their breath to 2am phone calls from jealous girlfriends. How is it that I find these people over and over? o.0

03:52 pm - Extremist Tendencies ftw As we all know I've been elated to get my grubby paws on the new HIM cd. Well, of course it's been all HIM all the time around the office and home now (soz to those that have suffered but let's be honest, ya know ya love em too ^^). I was elated to see that CD Plus had the limited version of "Dark Light". Only to top it off, a friend told me that Ville sang on one of the tracks on the new Bloodhound Gang cd. Bein the fangirl that I am, I picked it up today. Much to my delight, the song "Something Diabolical" is awesome ^^ Interesting that I seem to like girlie-esque front men who sing on other ppl's cds *cough*jaygordon*cough*.
In other randomness, can't wait for Nov 18th when Walk the Line comes out. ^^

02:38 pm - Dark Light I was tickled pink to get my paws on the latest H.I.M. cd Dark Light, today. It's a little more mellow than some of their past albums, but all in all, I like it just as much. What can I say, when you get their heartagram inked on ya, you're gonna be a fan no matter what ;) *goes fangirl over Ville*

Myrna Loy You scored 19% grit, 42% wit, 14% flair, and 35% class! |
You are loaded with a quirky kind of class that people find irresistable. Men turn and look at you admiringly as you walk down the street, and even your rivals have a grudging respect for you. You usually know the right thing to say, do and, of course, wear. You can take charge of a situation when things get out of hand, and you do it with great poise and chic. Your wit and sense of fun endear you to your partner and every other man in the room. Your screen partners include William Powell and Cary Grant. You're quite a catch...if you want to be caught.

01:03 pm - Rock Star: INXS I've been meaning to mention this for some time, but well, we all know just how much I love to procrastinate.
Anyway, since the first episode of Rock Star: INXS I've been strangely fixated. Anyone who knows me is fully aware of my love for this band. Kick was an album that was played a lot as I grew up as well as X. I fondly remember receiving Elegantly Wasted for my birthday the first year I worked at Black Cat Music.
Now since Michael has died, I'm not really sure that they should call themselves INXS now. It would kinda be like Dave Grohl and the other guy (like I know who he is) keeping the Nirvana name. Or Axl Rose stickin with Guns n Roses. Of course that's another situation all together. Anyway, so in my humble opinion, no matter who they get, the band will never be INXS again. It also bothers me that they've dropped to such a level as to look for a new singer on CBS.
Having said this, yes, each week I look forward to seeing who sings what. I think one reason why I've become drawn to this show instead of the horrors like American and/or Canadian Idol is the fact that it's a) it's rock instead of that pop shite and b) the peeps can actually sing.
With five people left it's getting more and more interesting. Despite the fact that JD is from Nova Scotia, the guy has got to go. While normally I like the arrogant type when it comes to singers, etc, this guy I just wanna slap. Marty's cool and but my beloved Mig has got to win this ^^ I'll be a mighty sad tator if not, hehe! 10:55 am - Pug, Trevor, Cillian, Jason and ECMAs Boys, am I due for an update. Well, let's get started.
Though we had a wee bit of a party and presents have been long since chewed, a very, very happy birthday to my beloved Amir ^^ He's a whopping five years old now and is still as mental as the day I got him. God love the little fella =)
Was pokin around the Charlottetown Mall the other day and ventured into Music World. Had an interview with them but got another job instead. Anyway, I picked up a couple of cds and much to my delight I discovered that Trevor Hurst has a new band Hurst. Go figure two of the discs I listen to most are a couple of my fave front men from other bands (Ian Thornely of Big Wreck and of course now Trevor).
The Hurst cd is interesting. I was pleased to see Ross Childress of Collective Soul was on the album as well. It's definitely nothing like Econoline Crush but is still good. Love surprises like that ^^
Vicky and I had the pleasure of doing a double feature at the theatres this weekend. Red Eye with Cillian Murphy and Transporter 2 with Jason Statham. The word "rowr" isn't even close to how enjoyable both these guys are ;)
Red Eye is prob the best Wes Craven flick I've seen. Of course I could just be biased. Transporter 2, imo, is better than the first one. Definitely will be pickin these ones up when they hit dvd.
As mentioned I've rounded me up a new job. Starting, well, today, I'll be in charge of all things web related when it comes to the East Coast Music Association and Awards. Love these guys and it's simply wicked to be workin with em again ^^ Current Mood: happy Current Music: "Going Under" ~ Hurst

10:33 am - tommy can you hear me? After a long time of waiting, me and Vicky went to our beloved Empire to see War of the Worlds. Contray to some of the reviews that I've heard, I very much enjoyed it. Far fetched, totally. No matter, I'm startin to really like the Cruise/Spielberg combo as much as I love the Depp/Burton one. Have I mentioned I can't wait to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
Anyway, despite enjoyin the movie in a sold out theatre, the crowd was the worst I had ever seen. First of all, you don't bring a six year old to that type of movie. Bringin five year olds to Star Wars movies is bad enough but yeesh! I should also mention the kid had a the parents' cell phone. This combined with the cell phone-totin narrator at the end of our row was just....argh. Thankfully the majority of the movie was loud so it drown them out.

Mostly Straight You scored 29 (-52 being completely gay, 0 being bisexual, and 52 being completely straight) | You are mainly heterosexual, but you have a few homosexual qualities. You much prefer the opposite sex, but you have a mild interest in the same sex. If you disapprove of homosexuality, it is likely that you act overly straight to deny your slight gay tendencies. If you are comfortable with your sexuality, you might be up for experimenting with members of the same sex if given the opportunity. If you are sexually inexperienced, you could shift on the spectrum at a later time depending on whether you have sexual encounters with the same sex and whether or not you like those encounters. | |

08:20 am - I'm Batman As one could clearly guess by the subject, I was one of the lucky ones to have seen Batman Begins over the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised to see that unlike the previous two, this one was actually good. Then again, with the likes of Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy (who I love more than I did before after seein him in this one....rowr), how could it be bad? Maybe it had somethin to do with the fact that it was nothing like the neon-filled horror that was Joel Schumacher's doing *shudder* Anyway, I even liked the new batmobile o.0 weird
On another movie related tangent, the more I see trailers and articles about it, the more I'm looking forward to seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This is the point where again I profess my love for Johnny Depp. I'll never figure out how a man can look so good as in Chocolat and so odd as in Secret Window and yet be attractive at the same time. I mean hell, freaky as he looks as Willy Wonka, he still looks good o.0 Guess what one friend has said is true. as borrowed from deej You Are The Outlaw "Sure, I'll do it. My way." Just because you do not conform to the same laws and rules as everyone else does not mean that you are a bad guy. You travel your own path, separate from those around you, with your own reasons for doing what you do. Because of this and your own nature, it goes without saying that you are generally misunderstood. That does not matter much, though, as people love you for being who you are. You are pretty well set in your ways and have no real intention of changing. This can come across as a flicker of arrogance if your not careful. You do what is right for you, and God help anyone who stands in your way.
